Imran Khan’s followers broke into the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore Cantt a few hours after Imran Khan was taken into custody by Pakistan Rangers.
“Kaha tha Imran Khan ko na chedna (Had warned, don’t harass Imran Khan)”, Outside the home of the corps commanders, members of the protesting crowd were overheard taunting security guards with various phrases.
Additionally, Imran’s fans gathered in front of the Army headquarters and threw rocks at it before bursting onto the university. It was the first time the Army headquarters had been stormed.
One of the demonstrators asserted that two people had been shot as they were protesting in front of the ISI headquarters.
On Tuesday, Imran Khan was taken into custody on the grounds of the Islamabad High Court for his involvement with the Al-Qadir Trust Case.
The Pakistani military dismissed Imran Khan’s claims that a serving top intelligence official was involved in an attempt to assassinate him the day before his arrest. A few hours before his Tuesday arrest, Imran Khan reiterated the accusations in a video message.
The scam was revealed when Pakistan’s media noted that the trust received 180 million Pakistani rupees even though its financial records showed that it had spent only 8.52 million Pakistani rupees. They also questioned the institute’s charge of students given that it was recognised as a trust.
