Ayesha Gulalai who yesterday quit Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, accused him of harassing women leaders in the party and sending pornographic or indecent text messages.
In a press conference, Gulalai alleged that Imran Khan is a characterless man. Also, she has been receiving highly obscene text messages from him since October 2013. Women affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were not safe.
According to The Times Of India, Gulalai told Dawn News, “I think Imran Khan has issues because he is jealous of talented people. He thinks they are a threat. Because of this, many men run from him. He has other methods with women.”
She further added: “Women workers are not respected in the PTI and a respectable woman worker cannot remain in the party. My integrity matters to me the most and I cannot compromise when it comes to my honour and dignity.”
Gulalai hails from South Waziristan tribal region and was elected to the National Assembly on a reserved seat for women from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).
On the other hand, senior PTI member Shireen Mazari dismissed these allegations against Imran. Gulalai was denied from a ticket in the election. Mazari further added that she was planning to join PML (N), the party of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
