The umpires were called for a little chit-chat with the Star Sports officials which is surprising to see as the interviews are often taken place with either players or their coaches and management.
The umpires have been keeping an update on when to resume the game play as the earliest time decided by the game officials is said to be 10:02 PM (IST).
On field umpires Anil Choudhary and KN Anantha Padmanabhan have announced that the latest time to begin the 5-over per innings game is 10:02 PM and the ground is being given a maximum of 30 minutes to clean and sweep the rain water which will be a lot easier with the SubAir system installed at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
Chinnaswamy has reportedly installed a SubAir system which solves the major problem of sudden rain.
SubAir system in the Chinnaswamy stadium will assist to suck the rain-water in very less time which is advantageous for the players and management who can perform once again with less issues of a “wet-stadium”
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) decided to install the next-generation subsurface aeration and vacuum-powered drainage system from SubAir, USA at Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bangalore) after extensive research and technical evaluation, making it the first ever installation of SubAir Systems for Cricket stadiums worldwide.
“Fan experience is our primary objective. There is a risk of losing Rs 80-100 crore when a game gets washed out. We believe we have addressed this challenge,’ said KSCA vice-president Sanjay Desai earlier in 2017.
