Skipper Rishabh Pant witnessed Shreyas Iyer’s fierce batting against Shamsi in the ninth over and most probably tried to replicate it when he witnessed Keshav Maharaj from the other end.
The crowd were waiting for Rishabh Pant to target Keshav Maharaj and the very first delivery was intended to smash Keshav for a six.
Unfortunately, the stepping out did not make much of a difference as Rishabh couldn’t connect well and gave away his wicket cheaply to Keshav’s very first delivery of the 2nd T20I.
Rishabh Pant would be possibly regretting and the commentators suggested that Rishabh Pant should have waited to hit the spinners as Bevuma put up spinners very late.
It was Keshav’s first delivery which gave him the utmost confidence to take on some more wickets tonight but will he be able to take another wicket?
At the end of 10 overs and the first drinks break, India scored 71 runs at the loss of 3 wickets as Rishabh joins the opening pair to walk back to the pavilion. Rishabh Pant scored just 5 runs off 7 balls
