Actress Priyanka Chopra seems to be quite worried over the situation of India after the second wave of Covid. She has set up a fundraiser for all those who are in need and also shared a video. Check it out.
Priyanka Chopra is presently in London due to her work commitments. But even then she is quite worried over the situation her home India is facing after the second wave of Covid prevailed in the country. Expressing her concern the actress along with her husband, singer Nick Jonas, collaborated with GiveIndia and set up the fundraiser for thousands of people who are in urgent need. On Thursday she took to her social media platform and urge people to contribute to the online donation platform. She also talked about the oxygen crisis India is facing. And the shortage of hospital beds and medicine.
The white tiger actress was heard saying “India is my home and India is bleeding. And we, as a global community, need to care. And I’ll tell you why we need to care: Because unless everyone is safe, no one is safe. I understand a lot of people must be angry thinking about why we are in this place in the first place? Why is this happening? Well, we’ll address that. We’ll address that after we stop the urgency,”
The global icon Priyanka also said that she and her husband Nick already donated and will continue to contribute more. And that’s why she urged people on the video to come forward to help. She captioned the video as: “There is illness everywhere, and it’s only continuing to spread and kill at great speed and scale. I have set up a fundraiser with GiveIndia, the largest organization on the ground in India providing Covid relief. Whatever you can spare, truly makes a difference. Your donation will go directly to healthcare physical infrastructure (including Covid care centers, Isolation centers, and oxygen generation plants), medical equipment, and vaccine support and mobilization. Please donate. Nick and I already have and will continue to contribute,”
