On Friday prime minister P.M Modi urged all the countrymen to switched off non-essential lights and stand in the balconies and verandas of their house with candles, lanterns, and diyas. The purpose of this was to show unity in the fight against the virus requested by the Prime Minister since the lockdown started.
As the clock struck 9 millions of people were seen lightning Diya and equally maintaining social distance. Apart from this, people were seen wearing face masks bursting firecrackers and blew conches. Also, the spiritual chants were heard all over the place. At around 9.30 pm, Prime Minister Modi tweeted a photo of him lighting a lamp at his official residence in Delhi. He also posted a Sanskrit poem that read:
“Salutations to the light of the lamp which brings auspiciousness, health and prosperity which destroys inimical feelings; Salutations to the light of the lamp”.
The whole of India united against Corona at 9 pm on Sunday. On the appeal of PM Narendra Modi, from common people to big celebrities united and gave the message of lights through lamps, candles and mobile flashlights. Between the conch sound and the sound of thali, the countrymen gave the message that no one is alone in this fight. Currently, the lockdown situation is still going on and only the shops selling the essential items are selling up.
