Indian Sand Artist Sudarshan Pattnaik wins Gold at Moscow Championship
Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik added another gem into his crown by winning the gold medal at ninth Moscow Sand Sculpture Championship “The magical world of sand” 2016. Pattnaik won the competition for his 15 feet high art work “Mahatma Gandhi’s sculpture for non-violence and peace”.
20 top sculptors from different countries competed at the championship, which was held from April 21 to 27 at Kolomenskoye in Moscow. He has also got the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri in 2014. Pattnaik runs a sand art school at Puri beach in Odisha.
