India’s Chenab Bridge is being built over the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. Where the Indian Railways is known for being the largest managed railway network, it has now undertaken one of the most challenging tasks of constructing the world’s highest Arch Bridge.
The Chenab Bridge when completed, will be an architectural marvel as it will be 1,315 metres long, with a 480-metre arch and will stand at a height of 359 metres upon completion, which is 35 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower.
Apart from being exceptionally high and long it also holds the significance of being the most stable megastructure with a strong foundation in the most rough of terrains.
