USA president Donald Trump is not losing any chance to dig problems for Indians. The new visa bill proposed by the US Congress has made a bad impact which is clearly appearing large over Indian IT industry. As per the new regulations for H-1B visa, the tech giant of India, Infosys, has decided not to apply any sort of work visas for employees at the junior level.
The junior level includes the employees having less than 4 years of experience, particularly of level-3, including Systems Engineer and Senior Systems Engineer. Rather, they would look to deploy new staff for onsite jobs or get H-1B for senior employees.
This is not the only problem, the other worrying factor is an increase in minimum wage for H-1B visa holder which is USD130,000. Other big IT companies like TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Capgemini et al would now work on bringing up some prerequisites for an H1-B visa within the company.
Apart from Infosys, every other domestic company in India is suffering this major setback nowadays. If the problem continues for a longer time, there is a chance that most of the companies would lay off 2-3% o the workforce. Whereas, one of the leading IT companies Cognizant is expected to fire around 6000 employees as part of this year’s appraisal.
