1) The number of sex-workers are increasing in this state
According to the report of ARZ, an organization working for the welfare of sex workers, every year near about 1000 of girls are brought to Goa. The girls come from Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in order to seek employment. These girls work in massage parlors, casinos and hotels as sex workers.
2) The Basilica of Bom Jesus Church
Goa is famous for The Basilica of Bom Jesus Church and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier (from 450 years). The church is located in Old Goa, which was the capital of Goa in the early days of Portuguese rules.
3) Goa is having India’s first medical college
Goa Medical College (GMC) is a government medical college and hospital in Goa, India It is one of the oldest medical colleges in Asia, the only earlier ones being the French founded JIPMER (formerly Ecole de Médicine de Pondichéry) in 1823 and the British founded Calcutta Medical College in 1835.
4) Dudhsagar Falls
Dudhsagar Falls (literally Sea of Milk ) is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the border of the Indian state of Goa and Karnataka. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 meters (100 feet).
5) Mangueshi Temple
This temple is one of the largest and most frequently visited temples in Goa.
