There was a lot of hue and cry over Aamir Khan’s removal as the brand ambassdor of the “incredible India” campaign. It was earlier reported that the actor has been removed from campaign due to the comments made by him last november about intolerance in India.
In it’s latest statement, Tourism ministry has cleared the air and confirmed that though Aamir Khan is not removed from the campaign but his contract with the ministry has come to an end.
Culture and Tourism minster Mahesh Sharma said, “Tourism ministry was not in an agreement with actor Amir Khan. The ministry’s agreement was with a firm to make a film. The project is completed and the ministry has paid fees of Rs 2.96 lakh.”
Wondering who will next represent the campaign? According to Tourism minister there’s a long process of finalising a name which is yet to be done.
