The popular 1988 horror-comedy Beetlejuice has been a fan favorite for years. After a long wait of 36 years, the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice finally hit the cinemas, with an amazing response. Widely appreciated by viewers now, it’s obvious that the fans are wondering if there is any possibility of a third Beetlejuice film. Is the spooky adventure Beetlejuice 3 Confirmed?
At this point, there is no information or indication from the producers of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice that a third movie is in the making. However, the man responsible for directing this movie, Tim Burton, does not seem to be too keen on creating another part of the movie. First, it should be mentioned that in the entire career of Burton, he has not been keen on making sequels as a rule, choosing to work on new films. Speaking to Variety, Burton expressed that in this case, he doesn’t have much desire to make the third Beetlejuice movie. He quipped, “Let’s do the math… it took 35 years to do this, so I’ll be over 100 [to make a third part]. ” However, he also quipped that even with the advancement of science, he does not consider making Beetlejuice 3. This response may be a bit disappointing for fans, but there is still hope.
What if Box Office Success Could Make a Difference?
Even if Tim Burton might not look forward to a third movie, the record-breaking success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at the box office will certainly motivate the producers to come up with another sequel. In most cases, money does the talking and if the film is doing well financially, more movies in the franchise usually follow. However, one of the producers, Tommy Harper, indicated in the latest interview that there could be Beetlejuice 3. He said, “We have not discussed here about what could be the next for the sequel, it’s about making one of the best movies, then whatever could happen next is possible.” So we could see Beetlejuice 3 in the future but there isn’t any plan for that yet.
What would Beetlejuice 3 be based on?
Unfortunately, Beetlejuice 3 is not likely to happen at this point, so no one can say what the story will be about. But in the last scene of the film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, there was an implication that the character Betelgeuse could come back and scare again Lydia Deetz. The idea for the third movie could be to go back to the Deetz family.
