The news about Vikrant Massey’s retirement from the film is creating buzz all around leaving the fans with mixed reactions. This all started when the actor recently announced to quit acting after 2025.
Recently, the popular Indian actor Vikrant Massey gave a huge surprise by announcing he would be leaving acting for sometime. The actor made this revelation on his Instagram page as a way of coming out of ‘acting’ late Monday morning. Sharing that he wanted to scale back and spend more time with his family, Vikrant said his final two films will hit theaters in 2025. But, this news splits the fans right down the middle.
Some said that the statement was actually for time off and not retirement. This was because Vikrant had expressed the statement in this note using the words ‘for now’. “It’s a break. One user wrote on reddit saying. He is young and good and certainly he would be back. Another user said I suppose, added, “We keep forgetting he has been acting for a long time.” I remember him playing kids shows when I was young and that’s about 12-13 years ago back from now. That’s good for him to state his priorities right, family and most importantly parents. Vikrant gained fame when he was merely 19 years of age in 2007.
His decision has surely raised eyebrows because the last two films he has directed received not only recieved appreciation and recognition but also brought him good money. One fan wrote it’s such a brave decision to do it at this time when your career is doing better and could potentially get bigger. So my respect to him for doing what seems right at the moment,”
Is it a publicity stunt?
Not all were convinced about the announcement he made. Millions of people said there is even more to it than what they saw. Many claimed that this might be part of a promotion for some product or movie. Earlier this month on Reddit, one fan claimed the following: It doesn’t make sense. Another joined in, “Oh, there has got to be more to life than this.” He just won’t retire. He could do Sabarmati and then retire.”
Some on social media felt that Vikrant may be going into politics. His latest work is The Sabarmati Report, has received commendation from politicians, such as Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. People even speculated that he is going in politics fo sure. A fan said It’s a bad move, and it’s too early for him. A year from now, nobody will remember him, but he seems like a delulu and has a false reality,”

On Monday morning, Vikrant left his fans stunned by claiming he won’t act after 2025. In his instagram post he wrote, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor.”
