Squid Game, a popular Korean drama, will return for a second season. Won Ji-an is reportedly planning to join the show’s cast. Her organisation responded to the report on Wednesday with a statement. The sequel to Squid Game is called Squid Game: The Challenge. In November of this year, Netflix will release it.
Squid Game: The Challenge will debut this year, Netflix said during the most recent Tudum event in Brazil. In Squid Game: The Challenge, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo will all reprise their roles for the audience. The new cast members of the Hwang Dong-hyuk-produced programme are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.
According to a JTBC report, Won Ji-an will appear in Squid Game’s second season. According to Won Ji-an’s agency, as reported by Soompi, “We cannot confirm whether Won Ji-an will be starring in Squid Game 2. Please kindly understand.”
With DP, which debuted on Netflix in 2021, Won Ji-an made her acting debut. She additionally appeared in Hope or Dope’s first and second seasons. She now plays the lead in Heartbeat on KBS2.
Netflix has not yet officially announced the show’s female cast members. According to reports, the show will also include Park Gyu Young, Jo Yu Ri, and Kim Si Eun. In the Netflix series, hundreds of poor competitors play children’s games to compete for a huge cash reward while risking their lives.
456 participants will participate in a number of non-lethal challenges in this new season in an effort to take home a staggering $4.56 million in prize money.
In September 2021, Squid Game’s nine episodes were removed from Netflix. It received several Emmy nominations, notably best drama series. As the first individual to be honoured in the drama category for a non-English speaking role, Lee Jung-jae also took home the award for best actor in a drama series.
