Last year, Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre came to know that she is suffering from deadly disease cancer. The actress was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Since then she is under treatment. She flew to the US to cure her cancer and until now has undergone a number of chemotherapy sessions.
The actress, who is currently in India as she takes a small break from her treatment, recently got candid about her journey as a cancer patient. Sonali revealed that when she broke the news about her cancer on social media, she wasn’t expecting that so many people would write to her about their own experience with the disease.
To let you know, Sonali was judging a TV reality show ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz’ when she came to know about her cancer. Actor Vivek Oberoi was her co-judge in the show. Vivek said that while she was judging the show, Sonali told him many times that she sometimes feels severe pain in her body. Vivek took it seriously and asked her to have a medical check-up.
After the test she came to know that she got diagnozed with cancer. Sonali was later replaced by actress Huma Qureshi in the show. Sonali has a metastatic cancer, a form of cancer that spreads to a different body part from where it started. In other words, it is called as “advanced cancer,” or “stage 4 cancer.”
