Income Tax authorities recovered Rs 130 crore in “unaccounted cash” in the wake of leading attacks at AAP MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar’s home in July, as per media reports. The Indian Express reported a month ago that I-T authorities, joined by almost around 20 policemen, additionally conducted the raid at the living arrangements of Tanwar’s sibling and his residential help. Some jewelry and cash have been recovered in the raids, the sources said without disclosing the amount. The sources added –
Tanwar and his colleagues were involved in buying and construction of properties without declaring them in the annual returns and mentioning the source of income. A lot of documents have been enclosed, which are ownership papers of properties on power of attorney and not on the legal registration format.
Reacting to the I-T attacks, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said, “Modiji, you deploy the CBI, Delhi Police, IB, ED and Income Tax, but we will keep doing our work.” A group of MLA’s been either been reserved or captured for different offenses. Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for arranging a witch-chase against his party lawmakers by foisting false cases.
