Player of the 4th T20I, Dinesh Karthik’s fireworks in the last overs of the first innings have benefited team India to bowl with a decent total to defend.
India were failing in the middle order and with 4 quick wickets gone, India was in a match trouble when Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik decided to gear up.
Hardik too played a special knock of 46 runs but Dinesh Karthik’s shot has a special place in everyone’s heart as he seemed to have come out to the ground to make history tonight.
The fantastic fifty by the 37-year old had made former cricketer Sunil Gavasker believe that he will be a part of ICC World Cup 2022.
“It will be a big surprise if DK is not in the Melbourne flight,” claimed veteran Sunil Gavaskar during the commentary session of the 4th T20I against South Africa.

The 37-year old Dinesh Karthik has certainly played a remarkable innings to prove the Indian fans that he is ready to take on the lethal World Cup war which will shortly commence in few months.

“Just feels good. I am feeling very secure in this setup. In the last game things didn’t go according to plan, but I went and expressed myself today. I think DK is thinking a little better. He is able to assess situations better and that comes with practice. Credit to my coach. They bowled brilliantly upfront and made it tough for us. It was a tough pitch to bat on. It was hard to hit boundaries. Our openers have usually been kind enough to get us off to good starts. When I went in Hardik told me to take my time. It was important that players who have been around for long need to stand up on such pitches. Bangalore is a home ground for me. I haven’t played with RCB, but have played a lot over there. It is good to see a bilateral series going down to the final match. To see the pressure being absorbed in the third and fourth games was something we would relish. Credit to Rahul Dravid; there is a certain sense of calmness. The dressing room is a calm place right now. It is important to learn to embrace the pressure. It feels secure and fuzzy. That clarity and the environment helped,” says Dinesh Karthik during the post-match conference after being awarded the “Player of the Match” award.
