RRR after the historic win at the Oscars is basking the smell of fame, success and admiration from people across the globe. The documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, also brought laurels for the nation with the first ever Oscars for an Indian productions ever.
Amidst the celebration across the nation for the two Oscars the Indian filmmakers bought home, Jacqueline Fernandez’s makeup artist and dearest friend Shaan Muttathil, took a dig at the winning moment and mentioned that award could have been possibly bought.
Shaam wrote, “Hahahah this is so funny. I thought only in India we could buy awards lol. But now even the Oscars. Money and what all we can get when we have the money. Even Oscars lol.”
For the unnoticed, the actor’s song ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ was also nominated for the Oscar in the Best Original Song category. Netizens slammed Shaan and commented, “Jealousy at its peak”.
The songs competing the same segment were Lady Gaga’s ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and Son Lux, Mitski, David Byrne’s ‘This Is A Life’ from Everything Everywhere All at Once.
MM Keeravani and Chandrabose’s helmed ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ stood out brilliantly amongst the lot and bagged the coveted award.
