Famous Jessica Lal murder case‘s convict Manu Sharma, who is serving a life prison, was recently released on June 1. The reason for his release was due to good behavior in prison. Reacting to the matter, Vidya Balan said that any such punishment should not be enough for such people. Let me tell you that Vidya acted in the film made on this massacre.
According to Hindustan Times, talking to a media organization, Vidya Balan said, “Personally speaking, I don’t think any amount of time for him or for people like him in jail is enough. So that will always play in my mind. Yes, maybe he has turned a new leaf. I hope he has. I hope he is a reformed person.” She adds, “So that’s all one can hope you know, after spending so much time in jail. That is the point of being in prison, right? That you reform. So let us hope that has happened.”

Vidya played the role of Sabrina, the sister of the deceased in the 2011 Raj Kumar Gupta’s film No One Killed Jessica on Jessica Murder. The film featured the struggles that Sabrina had to face in order to punish her sister’s culprits.
Why Manu Sharma killed Jessica?
Manu shot and killed model Jessica Lal on the night of 29 April 1999 at a hotel in Delhi when she refused to serve alcohol. After which he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court in December 2006. He is the son of former Union Minister and Haryana Congress leader Vinod Sharma.
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had ordered the release of Manu Sharma, who is serving a life sentence, on the recommendation of the Sentence Review Board (Punishment Review Board). After which he was released on Monday. This was attributed to his good behavior in jail. Manu had already served a 14-year sentence in Tihar Jail.
