The popular namesake webtoon will be adapted into a film called Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, starring 28-year-old South Korean singer Jisoo. The main cast of the next movie will include Lee Min-ho, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Nana in addition to the BLACKPINK star. Realies Pictures, the production company behind hit films including Confession, Masquerade, Warriors of the Dawn, and the action series Along With the Gods, is set to start filming in December.
The main character in Omniscient Reader’s Point of view is Hyo-seop’s Kim Dokja, who discovers himself in a world that is altered by the novel he is reading, and the events that follow as he attempts to preserve the world.
In addition, Nana will play Jeong Hee-won, while Min-ho will play the novel’s protagonist, Yoo Jung-hyuk. It is anticipated that Jisoo would portray Lee Ji-hye, who collaborates with Dokja. Shin Seung-ho, Jeong Seong-il, Park Ho-san, and Chae Soo-bin are featured in the supporting cast of the next movie.
The official summary for the movie is as follows, citing MyDramaList: “Dokja was an average office worker whose sole interest was reading his favourite web novel, ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse’. However, when the novel suddenly becomes a reality, he becomes the only person who knows how the world will end. Armed with this realization, Dokja uses his understanding to change the course of the story and the world as he knows it.”
Social media went crazy when Jisoo’s casting in the movie was announced, with various fan groups updating their followers on the offer she had gotten for the movie. In response to one of these remarks on X, the previous Twitter, YG Entertainment issued a statement that said, “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is one of the proposed works and Jisoo is currently considering it.”
