South Korean manufacturer Samsung makes a wide collection of electronics: Cell phones, TVs and washing machines are just a few. Every time the Korean company is in the news it’s because something is catching fire, getting hacked, or its chairman is being arrested. On Sunday night’s episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver, the angry Englishman comedian brutally mocked Samsung products.
In his show, John Oliver tried to show what it would be like if Samsung came clean about all the defects in its products. It’s been months since Samsung recalled its defective Galaxy Note cell phones. Interestingly, Samsung will unveil its Galaxy S8 in just two weeks.
Samsung also recalled 2.8 million washing machines due to the risk of explosion. The latest revelation by Wikileaks alleging that the CIA has turned Samsung smart TVs into secret listening devices.
In the show, the mock ad said: “Our phones secretly call your mom on speakerphone whenever you’re having sex. Indeed, sex features again when it comes to the vacuum cleaners: “Our robot vacuums will f*** your cat. And your cat is going to like it.”
Samsung was founded by Lee-Byung Chul in 1938 as a trading company. Samsung entered the electronics industry in the 1960 and was separated into four business groups in 1987- Samsung group, CJ Group, Hansol Group and Shinsegae Group.
