John Schneider is no stranger to Hollywood. He’s played Duke in Dukes of Hazzard in the 1970’s Ans also appeared in the role of Superman’s father. Also, he has worked on the show The Haves and The Have Nots. With director Tyler Perry. Now, he’s taking on a new role as an overbearing father in the new movie Switched.
Talking about his character he said “We are living vicariously through the popularity of our influencer daughter, so we don’t know if she’s mean or nice – we have no idea, and we don’t care, because we are selfish, narcissistic, very funny people,” laughs Schnieder.
The flick’s plot follows Schneider’s on-screen influencer daughter who wakes up in the body of her wallflower classmate and vice versa. It’s like Freaky Friday but one thing that the film does so incredibly well, is that you have to eventually start to realize, ‘Wait a minute, the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.”
The film’s motto is “Lead with Love”, and the message that viewers will take away is just that. It is a story about putting oneself in another’s shoes, rising above, and leading with love.
“I think this movie will open your eyes to a lot of the world,” said Schneider on the spotlight the movie places on bullying and life as a young influence on social media. “Watch it especially if you have teenagers. Or if one of your teenagers has a large social media following.”
