Past few months Depp had made headlines for the legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard. But recently he caught attention for his fabulous art collection.
Johnny Depp is building a second mainstay. For the past few months, he has been busy in a sensational trial. The actor had to stand up to his ex-wife Amber Heard in court. She had accused him of domestic violence, after which he sued her for defamation and won the case. In order to come out with all of this, he devoted himself intensively to one of his hobbies. As the actor created works of art that were now sold out.
As per the reports, a total of 780 colorful prints could be purchased. His “Friends and Heroes” collection includes portraits of great personalities such as Bob Dylan, Al Pacino, and Elizabeth Taylor. A single piece cost 4,700 euros, there were works of art totaling over three million euros. And everything was completely sold out by the evening. Depp took to his Instagram on Thursday and wrote that the prints, made from computer-generated images, were online on sale at Castle Fine Art, which runs a network of galleries in Britain. For Johnny, this sale is now something liberating, as quoted by the gallery’s website: “My paintings have surrounded my life, but I have kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves.”
With the collection, Johnny wants to honor all those who mean something to him in his life. “I’ve always used art to express my feelings and to reflect on those who matter most to me like my family, friends, and people I admire,” he explained. The works are a tribute to people who inspired the Pirates of the Caribbean actors.
