Prominent English midfielder Jude Bellingham made history on Tuesday by becoming the first player from Real Madrid to receive the ‘Golden Boy Award’ in Turin. The greatest football player under 21 who is currently playing for a European club is awarded the “Golden Boy Award.” Among the 25 finalists, which included Arda Guler, his Los Blancos colleague, he earned his spot.
“I have to have big goals, to win the lot if possible. I enjoy playing for my country, England, and with Real Madrid as well. The pressure is huge but I’m so happy to represent both of these teams. I’m going to give it my all to win trophies both for my country and for Real Madrid,” Bellingham averred after winning the trophy.
Bellingham was earlier named the best football player under 21 after winning the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The Englishman’s final Los Blancos goal came against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League (UCL). Real Madrid prevailed 4-2.
In La Liga right now, the Los Blancos are playing at their best. After winning 12 of their 15 games, they have 38 points, which puts them atop the league rankings.
Bellingham’s team will face Real Betis in their next match at Benito Villamarin Stadium on Saturday.
