Jeon Jungkook, the self-proclaimed “golden maknae” of BTS, has once again made his mark on the world of music. At the 2023 SEC Awards, the amazing group’s youngest member won in two esteemed categories.
Jungkook was given the honours of International Male Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year by the SEC Awards, which are recognised in Brazil as a celebration of music and movies. He was catapulted to this spectacular success by his association with Charlie Puth on the captivating song “Left and Right.”
In the battle for the International Male Artist of the Year, Lil Nas X, Post Malone, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Harry Styles, Rema, and Steve Lacy were formidable opponents for Jungkook.
In addition, their collaboration beat out notable rivals like SZA, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Rena feat. Selena Gomez, Sam Smith feat. Kim Petras, Blackpink, Ariana Grande feat. The Weeknd, and Karol G feat. Shakira in the category for International Song of the Year.
The BTS Charts and Votings took to Twitter to extend best wishes to the artist for his amazing win at the global stage and mentioned, “Congratulations to Jungkook for winning International Male Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for the song ‘Left and Right’ at the SEC Awards.”
There were other reasons for rejoicing in BTS besides Jungkook’s victory. Jimin and RM, fellow members, also won significant prizes in several categories at the 2023 SEC Awards. Jimin won the prize for the best international album of the year, and RM was named the best Asian music artist of the year. BTS’s reputation as a relentless competitor in the music business is further cemented by this group’s success.
