Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Wished ‘Diwali Mubarak’ And People Are Not Liking It, Why?

Akanksha

Arguably the world’s most secular political leader, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau wished Diwali to everyone. He wished everyone Diwali Mubarak by tweeting a picture of himself donning in a black sherwani lighting a lamp. Then what happened that people are not liking his post?

You just can’t make happy everyone, no matter how good you are! People had a problem with it because they probably have nothing better to do. Many replies flooded Trudeau’s timeline saying that ‘Mubarak’ doesn’t go with ‘Diwali’. WTF! At one side people are praying for peace and the other side if someone from other country trying to make a world better place by celebrating different cultures, they aren’t appreciating.

While some of the replies expressed their scepticism about the choice of the word ‘Mubarak’. And then went ahead to tell Trudeau that they appreciated his effort to connect with the people of different ethnicities. India’s High Commissioner to Canada Vikas Swarup also attended the Diwali function with Trudeau. He also tweeted pictures and videos of the festivities.

Let’s the bad elements bark. Here we are appreciating this political leader who is trying to connect with his people. And it doesn’t reflect very well on the people who sit around and debate over such inconsequential things.

Happy Diwali to All!
