Indian Badminton Player Jwala Gutta was termed to be anti-national and anti-Modi on Twitter by a user because her mother is from China. A Twitter user questioned her nationalism and the two-time Olympian has involved herself in a heated argument and shut down the troll who tried to create unnecessary furore to get attention by targeting her.
The user asked, “Is it because ur mother is from China that’s y u oppose Modi every time?” The tweet proved an angry repose from the shuttler as she replied, “When u bring my parents in the conversation..u wish u didn’t see this side of me!!! Mind it.”
The user then again tweeted: “With all due respect to your parents. I am not questioning anyone. My intention (in fact I am eager) to know what makes the shuttler so anti-Narendra Modi.”
Jwala is not one known to back down and shot back, “Firstly I’ve lost all respect for u!! So I don’t think u will get any answer from me!! Secondly, if u had any question..ask straight!”
But the Twitter user again asked Jwala a question, “My question (Request): If Modi Govt is not working for the betterment of badminton or sports. convey it to the government they will definitely work on it.”
Unhappy with the claims of the user, Jwala responded, “U have lost ur mind!! Another word..u shall be blocked!!”
Jwala’s mother, Yelan Gutta is of Chinese descent. She was born in Tianjin, China and married Indian Kranti Gutta from Hyderabad.
