Since her appearance and comeback with Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale (2015) alongside Shah Rukh Khan, actor Kajol has been highly cognizant about the projects she chooses also keeping in mind the message they convey. She will be next seen in Salaam Venky (2022), helmed by ace actor Revathy, conceptualised and inspired from the book The Last Hurrah authored by Shirkant Murthy.
Salaam Venky featuring Vishal Jethwa alongside Kajol as her terminally ailing son named Venky. Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Prakash Raj, Ananth Mahadevan, Priyamani and Kamal Sadanah will alse be a part of the drama project.
While speaking to Indian Express.com, Kajol elucidated the points which left her in a dilemma whether she should go ahead with the project which revolves around the suffering of her onscreen child. She mentioned that Revathy came to her with the film about her chronically ill son, to which she briskly responded with a no.
Kajol elaborated, “I refused the film for three days. I was like, ‘I am not doing this film, I don’t want do a film in which anything happens to my children.’ I cannot handle that. It’s every parents’ worst nightmare, you wouldn’t even wish this on your enemy, it’s that kind of a situation.”
