But did you know none of them got paid the fee in crore for the first time in Bollywood? Yes, it was not they but the superstar of the south film cinema and legendary actor Kamal Haasan.
He became the first Indian actor to get Rs 1 crore as his remuneration for a single film in 1994. Before him, it was the Indian cinema’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna who was the highest paid Indian actor from 1970-1987. Along with him it was legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan who was also the highest paid Indian actor from 1980-87.
Haasan became the highest paid actor from 1988-1998. He shared the same status with another south actor Rajnikanth from 1999-2013. After giving a number of super hit films Kamal Haasan left Mumbai and moved to South Indian film cinema. In an interview with Times of India, the actor revealed the reason behind quitting Bollywood, he said,
