AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet actor Kamal Haasan in Chennai today. There are indications that Haasan may join politics soon and AAP could be his launch pad for the political career. This step may prove as the biggest turn in the South Indian politics and also will immensely effect Aam Aadmi Party’s position in southern states.
A source close to Kejriwal told The Indian Express:
“Arvind Kejriwal will be traveling to Chennai Thursday to meet Kamal Haasan, while the exact agenda of the meeting can’t be revealed, it will be political in nature.”
Source added that the current scenario of Indian politics is definitely not in a good state and the BJP government is trying every other way to break the opposition parties. Kejriwal and Haasan, today, will exchange their thoughts on the problems which people are facing in the country and how to solve them.
Last time, both had met at the Delhi Secretariat on September 11, 2015. The sources said that Hassan will most probably start his political career by the end of this month because he wants to take part directly or indirectly in the local body elections in Tamil Nadu which will be carried out in November.
Earlier this month, Hassan had met Kerala chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan and said:
“I have been talking to Kerala CM (Pinarayi Vijayan) about it, taking advice, will meet more politicians before I make my call.”
Hassan at that time also cleared that he will not join BJP as saffron is not his color.
