In a video posted to her Instagram Stories, Priyanka Chopra discussed pay equity in the Bollywood industry. Kangana Ranaut responded to the video.
Kangana asserted that she was the first performer to advocate for equal pay in the business and noted that many female performers still work on projects for no money. She stated that she was the only female performer who received comparable compensation to men actors.
The majority of female A-listers in the business, according to Kangana Ranaut, work on films for no pay.

Priyanka Chopra is seen in a video discussing pay inequality in Bollywood, which Kangana shared on her Instagram Stories. Kangana said, “It’s true women before me simply submitted to these patriarchal norms… I was the first one to fight for pay parity and most disgusting thing that I faced while doing this that my contemporaries offered to work for free on the same roles that I was negotiating for… I can say with confidence most A listers (women) do films for free along with offering other favours because they fear roles will go to the right people… and then shrewdly release articles that they are highest paid ha ha…”
Kangana further mentioned, “In the film industry everyone knows that I only get paid like male actors and no one else… and they have no one else to blame atleast now…”
Kangana had worked with Priyanka in Fashion, the 2008 well acclaimed film. Months ago, the latter revealed that she’s been away from Bollywood due to her being pushed in the corner. Kangana took a dig to Karan Johar and tweeted, “This is what @priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her and chased her out of film industry a self made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her.”
Kangana will be next seen in Emergency in the garb of erstwhile Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She will be also started in Tejas, Sita: The Incarnation and Didda: The Warrior Queen of Kashmir.
