An FIR was lodged against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel at Mumbai’s Bandra police station on Saturday under various sections including 124A. Mumbai court had on Saturday asked the police to investigate a complaint filed against actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel over alleged attempts to create communal tension through tweets. The order was issued on Friday by Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Jaydev Y Ghule.
Now Kangana’s reaction has come to the fore. Kangana wrote in a tweet, “Who all are fasting on Navratris? Pictures clicked from today’s celebrations as I am also fasting, meanwhile another FIR filed against me, Pappu sena in Maharashtra seems to be obsessing over me, don’t miss me so much I will be there soon.”
On the other hand, according to Ravish Zamindar, counsel for casting director Sahil Ashraf Ali Syed, his client had filed a complaint in the court seeking registration of an FIR against the actress and her sister under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The complainant alleged that the actresses have been defaming Bollywood for the past two months through their tweets and television interviews. In the complaint, he said that Ranaut had made “very offensive” remarks in the tweet, which hurt the feelings of not only him but also many other actors. Syed alleged that Ranaut was trying to divide the actors on communal lines. He said, “Her sister also made offensive comments on social media to spread communal tensions between the two religious groups.”
