Kannada film Kantara is emerging as a gradual hit movie amidst the OTT releases. The film is approaching very well at the cinemas. At the opening day, the Rishab Shetty directorial gained a massive Rs 1.27 crore and jumped to Rs 2 crore on day 8. The film in this festive spirit is expected to drive steadily at the theaters.
The Hindi version of this film has gained a massive Rs 15 crore, and is expected to cross the mark of Rs 20 crore mark. Fronting a cutthroat competition with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Doctor G which earned Rs 21 crore in the first week has performed fairly. On the other hand, Kantara is also in the competition with Hollywood film Black Adam, which garnered Rs 11 crore in just two days.
On the other hand, the Kannada version successfully etched the Rs 100 crore mark on October 15. Collectively, after the launch of the film in different languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, earned more than Rs 150 crore and might soon cross Rs 200 crore.
The Rishab Shetty directorial, was just accommodated on a nominal budget of Rs 15 crore. The film features Kishore and Sathami Gowda, in the leading roles. The film emerged to be the third-highest grossing movie in Kannada film giving tough competition to KGF.
