From Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, KJo demonstrated his directing talent.Karan talked candidly about a movie he wishes he had created in a recent interview.
In an interview with The Week, Karan Johar said that “he had not produced or had produced differently?” He chose the 2006 film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
Elucidating further, “It is a tough question because I will hurt the person who made it. There are films that were emotional decisions. The only film I wish we had packaged differently was Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. I tried to bring commercial elements like big song sets and massive stars, but it is an intimate film. If I could make this film again, I will correct it.”
He added, “People said I endorsed infidelity through Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, but I said you can’t endorse something that’s already sold out.”
Karan Johar on failure
“I have to be there for the lead actor and the filmmaker first. I will survive, but their careers could break…Money comes,” stated the filmmaker.
He went on to say that one bad movie won’t alter his financial future and that in order to win in this business, failures must be followed by victories. Johar offered advice on how to handle failure, saying that as long as you approach both success and failure with an equal degree of fervor, you should be alright.
