Kashmir will now see its first multiplex cinema In September. Which will allow locals to watch the latest Bollywood and Hollywood movies.
Finally, after three decades, Kashmir will now see its first multiplex with a seating capacity of 520. Which will allow locals to watch movies on a big screen. It will display the latest Bollywood and Hollywood movies. In addition to providing a taste of cinematic entertainment. it will also have numerous food courts, that will attract youth and children. Restoring cinema in Kashmir aims to cater to younger generations to the same amusement that other youths and children get throughout the nation.
As per the information, the cinema decor includes the ‘Khatambandh’ ceiling. Which is actually a central Asia-inspired architecture. The credit for this goes to The Dhar family and INOX,(major film distributors and theatre chains), who worked together to bring forward the idea for this multiplex. And finally, after some finishing touches, the INOX multiplex will be thrown open to the public. Talking about the multiplex Dhar said “We are slightly modifying the design element and incorporating a Kashmiri touch along with cutting-edge infrastructure. In order to increase the popularity of our local cuisine, we also hope to support and encourage local food entrepreneurs,”
Also, a photojournalist named Basit Zargar based in Kashmir shared the photos of an under-construction multiplex on his Twitter, he wrote “Kashmir gets its first-ever multiplex in Srinagar, to be opened for public in September.”

The owner of the cinema, is Vikas Dhar, the son of Vijay Dhar who owned the ‘Broadway’ theatre in Srinagar. But unfortunately, that was ruined in a fire incident in the mid-1990s. But now people will enjoy the cinema again after three decades.
