It is for the first time in the history of WWE that the audience witnessed a woman wrestler wearing a salwar kameez and fighting in the rings. The name of this woman is Kavita Devi. She is the first Indian woman to compete in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring. A video of her wrestling in a saffron salwar-kameez with a dupatta tied tightly around her waist is currently trending on YouTube. Take a look:

The video was uploaded on August 31 featuring Kavita Devi wrestling with New Zealand’s Dakota Kai. Ever since the video was uploaded it has already been viewed well over three million times. However, Kavita lost this match against Dakota but won the hearts over Internet. It was a unique of its kind moment.

Kavita was a former competitive powerlifter who represented India many times in the international competitions, including the 2016 South Asian Games.She also won a gold medal in the 75 kg category. Her trainer is none other than The Great Khali.
