Kiara Advani was born on July 31, 1992, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father is Jagdeep Advani, a Businessman and her mother is Genevieve Jaffrey, a teacher of Sindhi, Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, and Spanish ancestry. Kiara’s real name is Alia Advani. It was Salman Khan who advised her to change her first name as Bollywood already had an actress Alia Bhatt with the same name. In an interview, she said that the name Kiara was inspired by Priyanka Chopra’s character name Kiara in the film Anjana Anjani (2010).
Kiara Advani has a younger brother Mishaal. Kiara is not an outsider, her mother is related to several celebrities. The following year, Advani appeared opposite newcomer Mustafa Burmawalla in Machine (2017), an action romantic thriller, this film tanked at the box office.
2018 was a critically and commercially successful period in Advani’s career, as she was cast in two successful films – Netflix film Lust Stories and superhit Telugu film Bharat Ane Nenu. Telugu action-drama Vinaya Vidheya Rama was Advani’s first release of 2019. The film met with a negative response and flopped at the box office.
