The Women’s IPL was being questioned and proposed many times to the management and as the BCCI heads assured a great tournament for women will be happening soon franchises of the Indian Premier League are likely to show interest.
As per the reports Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings can own a WIPL team too and if these prime franchises come into the market for WIPL it would be statistically fortunate for BCCI to get some constant viewers because these franchises have been flaming up with fame and love from cricket lovers since 2008.
Kolkata Knight Riders is owned by celebrity Shahrukh Khan (via Red Chillies Entertainment) and Juhi Chawla (along with husband Jay Mehta).
Chennai Super Kings (Cricket Limited) is owned by Subramaniam Palaniappan, Sabaretnam Lakshmanan, Ramgopal Kalathingal, Srinivasan Ranganathan, Kalyanasundaram Balasubramanyam, Kalidaikuruchi Subramaniam, and Rakesh Singh and the parent organisation of the franchise was India Cement.
Rajasthan Royals is owned by Manoj Badale (Emerging Media), Lachlan Murdoch (RedBird Capital Partners)
The WIPL can commence on March 2023 or probably September 2023.
