Vijay Deverakonda was at his candid best as he graced the couch on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’. The actor was joined by his ‘Liger’ co-star Ananya Panday.
Coming into movies as an outsider, Vijay uncovered that it was Shah Rukh Khan and Chiranjeevi who gave him big inspiration to go on and make it big. “It is ok to dream, even though your family may tell you to not dream so big. It’s important that they see that if I came from there and did it, anyone in the country can. When I was growing up, I saw Shah Rukh coming from Delhi or Chiranjeevi Garu, back home, coming from nothing. They gave you that glimmer of hope that this can be done. I think I need to do the same for my generation and the people that come after me because it does help and it does show you a way. So that’s what floats my boat,” Vijay said.
The actor likewise addressed to bits of gossip about his romance with co-star Rashmika Mandanna. Vijay maintained that they are simply good friends and said, “I’ve done two films with her at an early stage in my life. Rashmika is a darling and I am really fond of her. She is a really good friend. You share so much through films, like lots of highs and lots of lows, so a bond gets created. And generally you get put in such close proximity very quickly that your bonds also develop much quicker. Normally, even to sit and look at a girl in the eye it would take me a while.”
Vijay Deverakonda will mark his Bollywood debut with ‘Liger’, which is set to release on August 25, 2022.
