The pop star from New Zealand Lorde took Twitter to apologize for her words that she used about her celebrity friend during an interview. She actually compared her friendship with Taylor Swift to an autoimmune disease.
The singer said that,
“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”
Ever since she made that comment, the internet users backlashed at her and one of the users on Twitter said that,
“Her comments were insensitive to Swift’s friend Selena Gomez who suffers from lupus.”
Lorde noticed it and wrote in response,
“Didn’t mention Taylor, but regardless, I [expletive] up & that was really insensitive. I’m sorry,”.
Selena Gomez, The Heart Wants What it Wants singer and the executive producer of The 13 Reasons Why suffers Lupus, and was required to take an indefinite break from her tour last year. She was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in 2014.
Pop stars Lorde and Swift are close friends. Swift threw her friend a star-studded 20th birthday party in November. For now, the only advice for Lorde is – Think Before You Speak!
