We often talk about the love stories of Bollywood stars but there is a love story of India’s richest man and business tycoon which is very unusual. In 2017, Mukesh Ambani topped Forbes’s annual list of India’s 100 richest tycoons with a net worth of $38 billion. And being a wife of India’s richest man makes Nita Ambani India’s wealthiest woman. Today we will tell you that how these two got married.
It was Dhirubhai Ambani, India’s top businessman and the father of Mukesh who became a matchmaker and made these two marry each other.
How did Dhirubhai Ambani get to know Nita?
Nita Ambani belonged to a middle-class family. Her mother was a Gujarati folk dancer. Nita too started learning Bharatnatyam when she was merely 5 years old. She started giving on-stage performances and it was there she was noticed by Dhirubhai Ambani. It was a Navratri function at Birla Matoshree where 20 years old was performing when Dhirubhai Ambani saw her and was impressed not only by her performance but also by her Indianness. He instantly decided to make her his daughter-in-law.
He insisted Nita to met his son Mukesh. Nita met Mukesh and love blossomed. Mukesh proposed Nita and she said yes. But there was one condition.
What was the condition?
Since Nita had worked as a school teacher and wanted to continue her profession even after marriage. Mukesh gave his nod to this condition and soon the two got married. Mukesh Ambani said that,
“With my wife (Nita) being a teacher, she is now telling me it’s high time I have taken up teaching. So going forward, both of us will be involved in education a lot more. It’s something we want to do more for our own personal satisfaction.”
