Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has opened about his views as to what led him to have an affair with Parveen Babi. And also spoke about an incident he witnessed while he was in a relationship with the actress.
Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has revealed how he was drawn into an affair with the late actress, Parveen Babi. And also reported about the mental illness she was going through. He also said that the late actress was suffering from schizophrenia. And the reason to reveal all this is a biography that has been released by Karishma Upadhyay. Mahesh too has recalled everything about his affair with the actress.
For those unaware, let us tell you that Parveen Babi was earlier in an affair with actor Kabir Bedi who also shared a good bonding with Mahesh Bhatt. However, the relationship between two didn’t work out and they parted away. Babi was in London and after her return to India, she began rebuilding her career and contacted her old friends. Mahesh was one of them. Later she called Mahesh at her residence to catch up with him. The film director was married at that time and was running in his twenties. He was also a struggler as his movies were not going well. Yet something compelled him to visit Parveen.
Talking about Parveen and himself, Mahesh revealed that everything started from that evening and the conversation kept getting deeper. He also spoke about the “psychotic incident ” of Parveen Babi that he witnessed one day. Bhatt said that one night after coming back from work Parveen was in her film costume holding a knife. I was at that moment with her. When she immediately asked me to “shut the door. After I asked about the matter Babi replied that someone is trying to kill her. And upon asking she took the name of Amitabh Bachchan.
Parveen Babi was rumored to have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The actress tragically passed away on 20 January 2005. Her body was found at the door of her terrace flat. It was revealed that she died of multiple organ failure.
