Lollywood actor Fawad Khan has equally received love and appreciation from the Indian audience through his stellar works in films like Kapoor & Sons (2016), Khoobsurat (2014) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). His last Bollywood film was Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, co-starring Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor.
In an interview, Khan was being asked about any future tie-ups with Bollywood after 2016. The actor responded with quite apprehensiveness and stated that unless things stabilize between the countries, nothing could be predicted.
“The collaboration with the people that I got to know and the kinds of people I was exposed to there was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The political fallout [between India and Pakistan] has not influenced our relationships, but it’s definitely made us very wary of answering such a question… It’s a good question but I can’t give a definitive answer until things stabilize and there are a lot of issues that need to be answered,” Fawad stated in an interview to Variety.
Fawad established stardom in India within a short span, however his stint took a pause due to the growing scuffle between India and Pakistan. In his latest interview, he mentions the fact that the socio-political turmoil needs to be solved, before he could resume work in Bollywood.
Fawad further added that he would avoid any sort of confrontation an he do not like controversies. He also expressed his concern that he is not sure that anyone from the Hindi film industry would like to work with him. He went on to explain that people who choose to break the trail might have to suffer the ramifications. Even he might fall on the same spot in Pakistan.
“But otherwise, I have a great relationship with the people that I’ve worked with and made great friends. I would love to see them again someday, and maybe work with them again. Whether it be for an international platform, a Pakistani platform, or for an Indian platform. Mainstream Bollywood is a different ballgame altogether,” Fawad concluded.
Fawad was recently spotted in Ms Marvel, web series launched on Disney+ Hotstar. His upcoming film, The Legend of Maula Jatt, co-starring Mahira Khan will hit the theaters on October 13.
