In Uttarakhand, a 23-year-old man was arrested for having sex with a cow at Pauri district’s Satpuli town. The situation became tense as right-wing outfits forced a shutdown of the market and staged a protest at the local police station.
To confirm the incident, the swab samples are being tested in Pauri and the report is still awaited.
An eyewitness named Baleshwar has filed an FIR at the local police station and the case under Section 377 (unnatural sexual offences) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
As the news spread through the hill town, Bajrang Dal and ABVP activists hit the streets forcing a shutdown of Satpuli market and also demolished the furniture shop owned by the accused.
According to the Hindustan Times, Pauri senior superintendent of police Jagat Ram Joshi said, “additional forces along with Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) is deployed, the situation is tense but under control.”
