Marvel Studios isn’t showing any signs of stopping down anytime soon, even if the superhero movie weariness has never been so glaringly obvious. We’ve seen some blockbusters, like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which marked James Gunn’s departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as other duds, like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which received harsh criticism for its shoddy visual effects and weak plot. The franchise is currently in Phase 5, and since studio president Kevin Feige made his statement about the release schedule last year, a lot has changed.
Two significant Avengers team-up films are also introduced in the Multiverse saga: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in May 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars in May 2027, both of which were rescheduled when Disney revised their release schedule in June. Due to the aforementioned strikes, the development of the eagerly anticipated Charlie Cox-starring Daredevil: Born Again series, which was initially scheduled for a 2024 release, has now been postponed indefinitely. The title of the movie Agatha: Coven of Chaos, starring Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza, has also changed; it is now known as Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. As part of Marvel’s aim to stretch out key titles and make each production feel like a “event” for fans, the nine-episode series has now been delayed till autumn 2024.
