Daughter of famous actor Neena Gupta, Masaba is an acclaimed fashion designer in her own right has narrated an incident in her early years as a child. In order to blend in, she happened to wear her mother’s makeup. Masaba Gupta’s father is well known Caribbean cricketer Sir Vivian Richards daughter. Growing up, Masaba admitted that she struggled with her appearance and appeared lighter in color she resorted to using makeup.
How Masaba Used Foundation
Masaba said she used foundation to make her skin look fairer however she never looked what the outcome. The color of the foundation obviously didn’t match her skin color and application made it obvious that led to further humiliation. This incident happened in the 8th standard, she tried hard to conceal her scars so that they don’t look obvious on the dark skin. Keeping the bathroom dark just to avoid looking at her skin.
Faced Bad Comments On Her Look
The constant comments made on her about how she looked made her feel bad about herself. Looking different made her stand out from the crowd, which resulted in bullying from her classmates, who made fun of her hair, color, and body shape. It was a phase that she had to go through.
All she thought was how she could change herself or wake up one day like everyone else in her classroom. She felt critical of every body part and questioned herself about the hair, lips, and body. She always felt why she couldn’t be like everybody else. Her only goal then was to fit in and not stand out, which actually stemmed from the bullying she faced at school at such a young age.
With that all behind her, Masaba has ventured into acting and will be seen in Masaba Masaba second season, which will be aired on Netflix.
