Almost two decades since the cherished adolescent comedy first debuted in cinemas, the famous Mean Girls ensemble members came together in Los Angeles for a covert commercial enterprise.
Camera crews were there when Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, who played significant roles in the 2004 cult blockbuster, were sighted on a football pitch in Los Angeles. Fans who have appreciated the film’s enduring characters and catchphrases were enthused by their appearance on set.
Lindsay, who is now 37, played Cady Heron in Mean Girls, a high school girl adjusting to adolescence after migrating from Africa. She learned about the nuances of high school social hierarchies through her contacts with the fearsome three known as The Plastics.
The group exuded joy when they reunited, and Amanda and Lacey both wore pink clothing in homage to the movie’s well-known allusion to wearing pink on Wednesdays. Karen Smith was spotted driving a silver convertible in a lighthearted reference to the film, evoking the iconic “Get in loser — we’re going shopping” moment.
Amanda appeared to be clutching a microphone and donning a jacket, making reference to her famous weather report in which she jokingly stated, “There’s a 30 per cent chance it’s already raining.”
Lindsay, who appeared in black, carried a zippered pouch that said, “Plastics Club Member,” further establishing the reunion’s connection to the legendary film.
The specifics of the reunion project are still under wraps, but it’s important to remember that Mean Girls will be 20 years old next year. Fans will be thrilled to learn that Tina Fey, who created the Mean Girls Broadway musical and original film, will reprise her role as Ms. Norbury in the upcoming Mean Girls Musical Movie.
