After Infosys releases 9000 employees, Microsoft is all set to fire 2,850 employees as the part of its June target. It announces to cut 700 jobs by next week during its earnings call.
The job cuts will include the different job roles inside the company. However, the previous cuts of the company have come in areas including its smartphone business and global sales team. This time the cuts will be spread across the company’s worldwide offices and business units, including sales, marketing, human resources, engineering, finance and more.
Earlier in July 2014, Microsoft announced its largest cuts, deducting 18,000 jobs, or 14 percent of the company employment.
This announcement comes after media reports revealed that Infosys has “released” 8,000-9,000 employees in the past one year due to the automation of lower-end jobs. This is revealed by the Infosys’ human resources head, Krishnamurthy Shankar.
