Tragic news about the Indian athelete Milka Singh is making rounds. As he passed away on 18th June due to covid complications.
The legendary Indian athlete left everyone with teary eyes after he died on Friday due to post-Covid complications. He was the man who was also popularly known as “The Flying Sikh”. Milka Singh Ji was tested positive for COVID-19 on May 19 and was being treated at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research. But after that, his health deteriorated. He was admitted to the ICU of Mohali’s Fortis hospital on 24th May. Later he was also moved on to PGIMER in Chandigarh on June 3.For further treatment till 13th June.
However, after fighting so much. He finally lost his battle against COVID-19. And on the 18th of June, he left for heavenly abode. Confirming the news, one of the family members announced “It is with extreme sadness that we would like to inform you that Milkha Singh Ji passed away at 11.30 pm. on the 18th of June 2021,”
Soon after his death. The internet was flooded with condolence messages. Including Bollywood biggies. Especially Anil Kapoor mourned his death and shared a couple of pictures on his Twitter account from his meeting with Milkha Singh. along with the cast of Dil Dhadakne Do. The cast included Ranveer Singh Priyanka Chopra, Shefali Shah, and Farhan Akhtar. Sharing the pictures on Twitter, Kapoor wrote “Milkha Singh ji welcomed us into his home and his lovely wife fed us the most unforgettable aloo parathas I’ve ever had… He truly was an incredible sportsman, phenomenal host and above all an amazing human being… will be truly & deeply missed…??”While Priyanka wrote “Warm and welcoming, you made our first meeting so so special. I have been inspired by your excellence, touched by your humility, influenced by your contribution to our country. Om Shanti #Milkha ji. Sending love and prayers to the family. #MilkhaSingh.”

Talking about Farhan Akhtar, he is still not able to believe that he is no more. The actor did a marvelous job by essaying the role of Milka Singh in the film Bhaag Milka Bhaag released in the year 2013. And managed to make ₹410 million (US$5.7 million). In a post, Farhan Akhtar also wrote “A part of me is still refusing to accept that you are no more. Maybe it’s the stubborn side I inherited from you. The side that when it sets its mind on something, just never gives up”.
