Angry Rajdhani express passengers who couldn’t catch their trains due to poor bookings, late arrival, and many other excuses now can get air tickets at the same price of Rajdhani’s AC coach’s train ticket, that’s what the Chairman and Managing Director of the famous Air India airlines, Mr. Ashwani Lohani says.
“Any passenger, who could not get a confirmed ticket, will be given option of booking in Air India flights over the next twenty four hours. The fares will be AC first fares for AC first class passengers and AC II passengers will be charged AC II fares plus Rs 1,500.”
According to him, this facility is now only released for Rajdhani trains but the cost which the Indian Railways website says for an AC ticket of Rajdhani express is Rs 4,750, therefore, a passenger booked in AC II of the Rajdhani will have to pay one-way fare of Rs 2,865 to get the AC II cabin plus Rs 1,500 for the Air tickets.
Lohani has further said that this program is only possible due to the new agreement signed between Air India and IRCTC, which will also be selling these air tickets.
